## The Guides

Each answers a question a new practitioner asks before buying an instrument or a training.

### [Leading a Sound Bath](https://gongspace.com/how-to-lead-a-sound-bath/)

Setting the room, shaping the sound from first stroke to silence, and bringing people back at the end.

### [Playing a Gong for a Sound Bath](https://gongspace.com/how-to-play-a-gong/)

Where to strike, how to warm a gong up, and how to build a long wash of sound without a crash.

### [What to Buy First](https://gongspace.com/sound-bath-instruments/)

What a first sound bath needs and what can wait, from a teacher who sells no instruments.

### [Choosing a First Gong](https://gongspace.com/choosing-a-first-gong/)

Size, type, mallets and stand, for a gong that will lead a sound bath.

### [Crystal or Himalayan Singing Bowls](https://gongspace.com/crystal-or-himalayan-singing-bowls/)

How the two differ in the room, in the hands and in price.

### [Sound Bath, Sound Healing, Gong Bath](https://gongspace.com/sound-bath-sound-healing-gong-bath/)

What each name means, and why some teachers keep away from the word healing.

### [Becoming a Sound Bath Practitioner](https://gongspace.com/how-to-become-a-sound-bath-practitioner/)

The path from a first instrument to leading a room, and where a training fits in it.

### [A Sound Bath Sequence and Script](https://gongspace.com/sound-bath-script/)

Eleven parts in order, from the welcome to the way back, with the words to say. Free to read or print.

## Playing a Gong for a Sound Bath

Symphonic, planet, chau and wind gongs each sound different under the same mallet. [How to play a gong](https://gongspace.com/how-to-play-a-gong/) covers striking and rubbing from the first stroke, and [choosing a first gong](https://gongspace.com/choosing-a-first-gong/) says which suits a first sound bath.

## Choosing a Training

Three trainings sit near $300, Hamid's own course between the other two. The full comparison sets nine side by side, each fact dated and linked to where it was read.
